Blue Flag in Dominican Republic
The blue Flag Programme initiated in Europe, since 1987 has been modified for implementation in the Caribbean. It is a voluntary programme and it has proven along the years to be a very effective strategy to guarantee the best quality in beach services for bathers in different parts of the world. Bayahibe has the prestigious European Blue Flag International certification. The beach actually became the first in the Caribbean to receive the designation, which honours high standards for water quality, environmental management, safety, education and services.
The Dominican Republic is always open and welcoming, just like the wide-open arms of our people themselves who will always greet you with a smile. The Dominican Republic delights its tourists not only thanks to its historical legacy or the Discovery of the Americas, but also through its natural and geological legacy, which has decorated our mountains and hills in a mantle of green, and painted the seas that lap our coasts in a thousand shades of blue. Against a backdrop of so many colours under the Caribbean sun, we have built up one of the most fascinating tourism offers in the Caribbean for all those who seek a truly thrilling experience.
